Iomega 250MB External USB ZIP Disk DRIVE

  Zip drives are an excellent way to store great memories, or long term storage of
data files and important documents. The zip disks I am using are iomega 100Mb
disks and work well with my iomega 250 USB zip drive. I mainly use my zip drive
to store multiple 3.5" floppy disks onto (1) zip disk and archive for long term
storage. You may be wondering why not use a SD card or CD or better yet
DVD ? well I like the dependability of magnetic storage. Zip disks are well
known for durability and tested for long term storage of important files. With
DVD & Cd's there is always the possibility of the dye aging and not being able
to recover my data in the future. Because home made DVD and Cd's are not
the same as commercial grade DVDs and Cd's, there is no guarantee on how
long this type of media will last. I still have zip disks from 1994 and data on
these disks are intact, just as the day I stored them on the disks. I was able
to pick up the USB zip drive in the picture above along with 10 new disks
for under $10.00 at a local thrift store. The drive works great and is very
use full when you want to absolutely be sure that your data is safe for future
accessibility and sharing in years to come. ( technical information )
